Kyle Huckins (Rev. Kyle Huckins, Ph.D.) has worked in every mass medium: television, radio, newspapers, magazines, the Internet, and social platforms. He has 25 years in PR & marketing in heritage (traditional) media and 24 years in the digital arena, the latter ever since the early days of the Web and social media. His varied experiences include serving as founding news director of a statewide radio group; reporting frequently for national & global broadcasting networks; writing features and editing for the official magazine of a 7-million-member African American denomination; managing social media promotion for a national evangelism & aid agency serving Ukraine and Eastern Europe; fundraising and student recruitment via email, direct mail, advertising, media appearances, and brochures for Christian colleges & universities; and audio/video news release writing, recording, editing & distribution for global ministries.

Huckins has won 26 major media awards, 11 national or global, including recognition by Religion Newswriters Association Evangelical Press Association, National Association of Black Journalists, Amy Foundation, eLit Book Awards, regional divisions of the Society of Professional Journalists and Associated Press Broadcasters, and more. 

He's received awards for writing on practical theology; news writing, reporting & features; public relations writing; copy editing; media production; talk show hosting; writing & reporting on people of color and those of faith; and excellence in serving clients. 

A media professor for 20 years, student media under his leadership won over 60 awards, among them national and regional recognition for newswriting, feature, opinion, and social media. His scholarly research, which includes studies of source-media relationships, surveys, and content analysis, has gained three honors, one global.

Huckins served as a university professor/administrator for 20 years, leading student media to several dozen honors and increasing audiences by up to 1,500%. His graduates had an 86% placement rate in major/minor and 9% in graduate school for an overall rate of 95%, many times the national average. 

His academic research has focused on factors influencing the portrayal of Christian groups in news media; his refereed journal articles have garnered hundreds of citations in PR, marketing & journalism scholarship. He's also won three honors for his studies, one global in scope. Additionally, he has authored several studies of Scripture as scholarly adviser and researcher for a Bible college & seminary in Australia.

A longtime leader in the world's largest group of media professors (Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communication), he chaired its Commission on the Status of Minorities and brought it record attendance at events, a 49% membership increase, and the groundbreaking study completing the hiring picture for racial minorities in news as only half that of their share of the U.S. population.  

Finally, Huckins has been in Christian ministry for a quarter-century and is in his 22nd year of ordained work. He's been ordained three times, once by a Black denomination, and currently leads an interdenominational church & evangelism group, Eternity Now, which has reached over 22 million people worldwide for Christ, many of them thru social media. He was dean of a statewide ordination & licensure school with 100% enrollment of people of color and started the small-group ministry at a large evangelical church.
